I'll lead a cross-genre workshop in poetry and short-form prose — prose poetry, flash fiction and hybrid forms — focusing on generative exercises as well as on crafting longer works.
The group is limited to 10 writers, and will meet in the late afternoons in the lovely, sunny upstairs room of a cafe in the 3rd arrondissment, a vibrant neighborhood contiguous to the Marais and the Place de la Republique.
Participants will make their own travel and lodging arrangements, allowing me to keep the fee for the 5-day workshop to $795.
Along with workshop meetings, there will be opportunities to interact with the Paris writing community, attend readings and cultural events, and to participate in at least one of Paris’s regular open mic nights. There will also be a performance from Tsigan while we’re there.
I’ll also offer one-on-one consultations on manuscripts and work-in-progress at a reduced fee for those enrolled in the workshop. A number of the workshop spots have already been claimed, so please let me know soon if you want to join us!
The workshop ends on the afternoon of Midsummer's Eve, which means we'll be there for the citywide celebration, the annual Fete de la Musique, which goes on all night in the streets of Paris — a party not to be missed!
To enroll in the workshop, or for more information, please send an email with "PARIS WORKSHOP" in the subject line to: firstname.lastname@example.org
A deposit of $375 will be required to hold your space in the workshop, with the balance payable no later than May 15th.
